2017 Hay Days

7th Annual

Arbon Hay Days

Everyone is invited!

You are invited to the 7th annual Arbon Hay Days on July 29th! If you live in Arbon, lived here in the past, want to live here, or are a friend of someone who lives here, you are invited (in short, absolutely everyone is invited). There will be plenty of food, shade from the sun, and games for kids and adults. Come and visit with your neighbors and enjoy an evening of fun and relaxation.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, July 29th

Location: Hayden’s Pond (click to see a map).  There will be plenty of signs to direct you to the location on the day of the event.

Starts: 5:30 PM

Dinner: 6:00 PM (Grilled burgers and hotdogs provided)

Program / Talent Show: 7:30 PM

Bring: Camp chairs to sit on, salad and/or dessert to share

The parking layout will be similar to last year.  We’ll have signs to help guide you but the entrance for parking will be just above (North) of the regular entrance.  Here is an image that shows how the parking will be.  There will also be handicap parking with shuttle services near the pond (watch for signs).


School Board Minutes and Expenses

ARBON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
May 9, 2017

The Arbon School Board met on May 9th at 7:00 p.m.  Members Jake Evans, Jessica Ward, Jason Williams were present as were Debbie Curry, Robin Claunch and clerks Christie Evans and Cheri Evans.

The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the agenda. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the March minutes. The bills were reviewed.  The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve them.  The total M & O expenses for May $22,715.45. The school received $692.50 from the State Department of Education, $190.08 from interest on investments. The school M & O balance is $255,962.81. The Plant Facility received $40.85 from interest the Plant Facility balance is $54,570.83. The motion was moved by Jake and seconded by Jessica to approve the financial statement.

May 23rd is the scheduled date for the end of year school program. Two performances; 11:00am and 7:00pm. The stage needs to be setup soon as possible. May 19th, the students will go to Hayden’s Pond and also paint bird houses.  Robin suggested to utilize the resource room by having Kade Lusk to remove the drawers that’s connected to the counters. Teachers are waiting to hear from the American Falls School District before finalizing our 2017-2018 school calendar.

The REAP application has been submitted. The deadline is June 30th if need to adjust changes to the application.

The 2017-2018 school year budget is being worked on but is close to being finished and ready by June 13th for the budget hearing.

The next meeting and budget hearing will be held June 13th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The motion was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Property Taxes Due

This is a quick reminder that the 2nd half of the 2016 property tax is due on or before June 20, 2017.  Payments not received on or before June 20th will be subject to penalty and interest.  If anyone should have any questions please contact my office.  Thank you.  Have a great day.
