Earl Dean Andersen

Earl Dean Andersen

Dean was born to his parents Kenneth Earl Hadfield and Delores Lucile Naef on 2 August 1937 in Malad, Oneida, Idaho.  He later became a big brother to siblings Lyle and Lucile. His mother remarried in 1942, and his new father, Andrew “Mark” Andersen, adopted all three siblings in 1943. That was a big year for the whole family, as he was blessed with another baby brother, Reece Mark Andersen, in the same year.

He attended school in Arimo, and graduated from North Marsh High School in 1955.

Dean married Helen LaRae Howard on 16 June 1956 in McCammon, Idaho. They were the parents of a son, Ardean, and a daughter, LaNell.

He loved life, and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing. He left behind many friends in the Arbon Valley.

Dean died 29 September 1987 at age fifty in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho, from injuries gotten during an accident during a cattle round-up that occurred on September 18. He was laid to rest in the Arbon Cemetery in the valley he loved. He was preceded by his brother Reese, Dean’s baby brother, who died in a gun accident in Vietnam in 1969.

Dean’s son Ardean later took over the Arbon farm until he sold it several years later.
