Evans

The Evans surname has been in Arbon Valley from its earliest days. Brothers Thomas (“T.B.” or “Tom”) and Lorenzo (“Ren”) applied for water rights in 1894, taking up “squatters rights” or possessory claims  Their younger brother Dave joined them in 1898. At least five families of Dave’s descendants (Dave’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren) still live in the valley today. A road named in honor of these early homesteaders is just south of the Bible Church. Today several families of the fourth and fifth generation of Evans still reside in Arbon Valley.
